Dr. Alana Arguello received her doctorate in apologetics with highest honors from Veritas International University (Summa Cum Laude). Before giving her life to Jesus, she also graduated with great distinction honors with a clinical master's in marriage and family therapy (focus on socio-cultural mores) from Pacific Oaks College (Magna Cum Laude) and was the honorary thesis symposium speaker. Her undergraduate degree comes from Baylor University, where she majored in philosophy, minored in political science, and focused on East Asian studies. Alana has also traveled and studied in Asia.
Current Research: Eastern worldviews and practices; cultural anthropology; social psychology; coercion and control tactics used in cults and larger group think movements; causes for the rise in narcissism and its long-term implications for communities, causes and preventative measures of communal narcissism; cross-sectional analysis of worldviews and spiritual practices and their implications on patients with PTSD, anxiety and depression (comparative analysis of what is useful, placebo, or dangerous), couples; ethical issues surrounding advances in clinical research and certain treatment modalities—raising the standard of care in informed consent.
